FOREIGN ASBESTOS LITIGATION
Are you, or someone you know, now living in Canada, America or Australia and have been diagnosed with an asbestos related disease and your exposure to asbestos was in Northern Ireland many years ago? If you are, contact us immediately as there is so much that you may be entitled to back home.
During the 1960s and 1970s for all sorts of reasons, families emigrated from Northern Ireland to these countries seeking a better life. Very often before leaving men served apprenticeships or worked in Harland & Wolff shipyard and other workplaces and were exposed to asbestos.
Because the time between exposure to asbestos and the development of symptoms is frequently up to 40 years and beyond, sadly still to this day people are being diagnosed by doctors with asbestos related conditions which include:-
- Unilateral Diffuse Pleural thickening
- Asbestosis
- Mesothelioma
- Lung cancer with asbestosis
All of these conditions are compensatable if they can be attributed to a former period of employment. It doesn’t matter that the victim left Northern Ireland many years ago and maybe has not returned since.
If he has been diagnosed with one of the above conditions he or his family, in the event that he has passed away, is entitled to substantial compensation.
Since the early 1960s we have been acting on behalf of victims of these terrible conditions in Northern Ireland. We have a long standing relationship with the Trade Union movement and have always been one of the leading firms dealing with these cases. Our experience is next to none in this area.
The partner who heads our asbestos department, Martin Hanna, is the third generation of his family to prosecute these types of cases. Martin has dealt with every possible asbestos related case and indeed secured the highest ever settlement in Northern Ireland for the widow of a man who died of a malignant mesothelioma who had emigrated to Canada.
Martin regularly travels to Toronto and other parts of Canada to meet clients and their families who have been diagnosed with one of these terrible conditions and are eligible to substantial compensation payments back home.
Thanks to local Irish media individuals in Toronto this message has been spread throughout Canada and more and more individuals are learning of their entitlements back home in the event that a diagnosis is made.
