now 800,000 cars may have false CO2 levels

Volkswagen is under the spotlight again after it has emerged that 800,000 cars in Europe may be affected by the latest news that CO2 levels in vehicle emissions may have been understated.

The scandal previously centred on nitrogen oxide levels however following an internal investigation by Volkswagen it has reported "irregularities" where it appeared carbon dioxide emissions levels as well as fuel consumption were understated during standards tests.
