Under the Landlord Registration Scheme Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014 it is now compulsory for all private Landlords to register their details as part of the Landlord Registration Scheme. This scheme collects and maintains up-to-date and accurate information about landlords and their properties.

The Scheme aims to promote good practice amongst Landlords and assist Councils, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Department of Finance & Personal (Rate Collection) to carry out their duties.

Should you fail to register or provides false information for registration you risk being issued with a fixed penalty of up to £500. If you are taken to court you can be fined up to £2,500.
