Karen studied law at Queen's University, Belfast and qualified as a solicitor in 2006 from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in Belfast. She practised law with another Belfast law firm before joining Francis Hanna & Company in 2011.
Within Francis Hanna & Co, Karen is a solicitor in the Family Law team. She is an accredited member of the Northern Ireland Children Order Panel and provides advice and representation to an array of clients in relation to all aspects of family law. Her particular expertise lies in the area of children law to include care, residence and contact proceedings. Karen also provides and advice and assistance in relation to domestic violence, divorce, separation and ancillary relief matters. Karen also has a particular interest in the field of international parental child abduction and the movement of children across international borders.
Karen also provides advice and assistance in relation to Wills and Estates within the firm. She has a keen interest in the area of Future Planning and Elder Client Care and assists clients with matters such as discretionary trusts and Enduring Powers of Attorney.
